Cousins or Sisters?

So these are my girls! When I first moved to LA, I lived with my brother in Santa Monica and we together had Kate. My brother found her so all and all I guess she was his but we lived together for three years and she was our dog! I will never forget the evening I dropped Kate off at my brothers new house I felt like I was abandoning my child. It was horrible, I cried hysterically for hrs (I seriously am not kidding! Ask Lawrence) Mind you he only moved like 4 miles away and I could pick her up whenever I wanted, but it was one of the most traumatic experiences I ever had - LOL! So we shared her for a awhile and it worked out ok but it still wasn't the same as having your own dog. I would come home from work and ask Lawrence if he wanted to go for a walk....He would always answer "Babe, I'm not your dog! - I don't need to be walked!" but one night he followed this by saying " I think its time you get a new dog of your own!! " I was ecstatic! Looking for the new right dog sort of became an obsession and I fell in love with a different dog everytime I went to the kennel and every dog I wanted Lawrence had some reason why it was not the "one" - he would say.... too big, not big enough, to hyper, ugly, too hyper.  I started think he would never say yes to any dog and then I found Lucy! I was on the way to the grocery store and I was at a stop light when I spotted the cutest black and white dog at a pet adoption event going on at a local pet store. I pulled over and went to go meet her and she immediately rested her head in my hand and put all of her weight on my hand like she was so exhausted she just needed me to hold her head up. It was so adorable, I immediately called Lawrence and he came to meet her and to my surprise he said almost immediately "She's the one"

Anyways, so now these two ladies hang out regularly and are best friends!
But what does this make them cousins or step sisters?

Amazingly HOT today!!! I love you Venice!!!

It's dayz like today that I am so thankful to live in L.A.! April 1st and it was 82 degree's at the beach!! Ahhhh the love!!!

I woke up this morning and all I wanted to do was go to the beach! All I could think about was the beach! I turned on the news and all they seemed to be talking about was the beach! What to do, what to do.... I kept telling myself 'you have to work, you have to work, your list of to do's it seriously ridiculously long - STOP thinking about getting a tan and get to work' so...... I sat down at my computer. Just as I sat down, I heard a ton of noise outside my office patio, I peered out and what I saw was my excuse to the beach!! You see, our condo is getting a facelift and it just happened that today was the day the constructions workers were tearing apart our entrance!! I mean really who can work with a bunch of sawing and hammering? Right?

Ahhhh, the beach!

My Parent's Birthday Celebration in LA !!!

My Dad and Mom both have birthday's in March and although we couldn't celebrate their birthday's with them in Wisconsin, we figured we should still at the very least enjoy a cupcake in honor of their B-day's!
Mom and Dad - Here's how we enjoyed your Birthday celebration here in L.A.!!!
We miss and love you both!!! xoxo
The cupcakes are loaded in the bike basket! Now off to the beach!
Quick stop to where Lawrence and I first met! I used to work behind this fence - Rentals Samy's camera!

My brother Quint bought these cupcakes and told us we needed to photograph ourselves eating them for Mom and Dad... so this was not all our idea!!!

We decided to enjoy my mom's cupcake in front of a Venice mural!! Mom it was really good!! You missed out;)

We decided we had to enjoy your cupcake with a cow or two so we biked to the Cow's End Cafe ! Happy Birthday - Dad!!!

We ended your celebration with a pizza and a beer! It was a great b-day celebrations! Love you both lots! If only you could have enjoyed it with us ; (

Sushi Night....

Ok so I haven't posted in forever!! But here are a few fun photo's from our recent sushi night at our amazing friends - Alex and Cristina's house.
This was pre the natural disaster (Our thoughts and prayers to all of Japan)

Our dog is literally, about 1/4 the size of their monster sized dog - "Oso" !

December was crazy!!!!

Where to begin.....

The beginning of the month both of our mom's flew into town and we rented a cabin up in Big Bear for a long weekend to bake cookies and also celebrate Christmas and my brothers birthday! We packed all our baking supplies and the dogs and away we went to our cabin which was named "A Million Dollar View" and that it was.  The weather was gorgeous and we all had a great time! Here's a few images from the morning we opened gifts!

Soon after we returned from Big Bear we went tree shopping and somehow (wink, wink) we ended up with a fabulous 13ft tree !!!!!...........

Lawrence is smiling because he thinks it's funny to shake
the ladder while I try to put Santa on top of the tree.
.......yes I am a little scared!

Thanks Lorie for all your help decorating! We love you!

Our First Christmas Tree as "The Anderson's"

We hosted a "Cookies and Cocktail Party" on the 19th. We sent out the invites one week ahead of time and truly thought we would not have a great turn out. We thought wrong 30 + guests  RSVP'd and so I baked cookies night and day for a week! I baked 10 different kinds of cookies but the sugar cookies were the best!

" I am assuming the thumb ups means approval of a cookie baking wife? "

The bearded Gingerbread Man was all Lawrence!

Ok soooo...... this is about the last picture we took for the holiday season. We also hosted Christmas Day at our house but I guess we were too busy in the kitchen because I didn't take one photo all day! Bummer, if anyone (Chase) who attended has photo's please send them our way!

Lazy Dayz in L.A.
